Welcome Home Summer

As is the tradition in Canada, we were pushed out of the hospital and headed home with Summer almost before we'd changed the first diaper/nappy! And when we got home, there was the cutest and most excited little welcoming committee I have ever seen. Brandon and Connor were beyond excited to have their sister come home, and to welcome her into the house.

Our traditional family photo as we bring Summer over the threshold for the first time.

  Summer and her royal guards!

Who knew this was such an exciting spectator sport?!

The other family tradition that the boys were excited about.........the welcome home ice cream cake, that Abby always buys. Thanks Abby.

Tender little Connor letting his sister know she is loved.

And it's all a bit much for little Summer who passed out with a full tummy on Abby's shoulder.

Welcome Summer Brooklyn Thomas

We are very excited to welcome Summer Brooklyn Thomas into our lives. Summer arrived 4 days early on Wednesday 17th July at 3:50am weighing 7lbs 9oz. She weighs exactly the same as her big brother Brandon when he was born, although she is taller than Brandon was.
Cammie was amazing as usual and beat her personal best as far as the speed of her labour.

Daddy having his first of many cuddles with his little girl.

             Our new pride and joy!

The very proud and excited big brothers get their first cuddles.

First kiss from big brother Brandon.

First kiss from big brother Connor.

First photo of the now complete Thomas family.

Summer Fun during Canada Day

We just finished a scorching hot Canada Day long weekend over here. Saturday - 28c , Sunday - 34c, Monday - 32c. Needless to say most of the weekend was spent outside at local water parks or in the backyard in the pool or under the sprinkler. I thought it was very reminiscent of how we used to splendour summer's as kids.........albeit we had a much bigger pool, probably because we have more than 3 days a year that are north of 30c!!!

Water pistols! A new present from Dad, presented on Friday night just before the heat wave.

I enjoyed using Brandon as an umbrella at the water park.....the water was cold!

The boys messed around, while the girls (Cammie and Baby ????) relaxed in the shade on the grass.

Brandon and Connor messing around during dinner time for a change..........NOT!!!

Wrestlemania in the pool. Their bodies were so bruised and scratched from all the wrestling when they went to bed on Monday night. Connor kept dobbing on Brandon for being too rough, but when he realized that meant 2 minutes quiet time out of the pool for Brandon (who he was having massive amounts of fun with) he withdrew his objections. It was very cute.
